Course of the Month - Inland Escape

Eagle Glen Golf Club provides patrons a tranquil, private club setting.

By Eli MillerPublished: June, 2008

With dramatic elevation changes, a peaceful and challenging layout, and one of the most ornate clubhouses in the Inland Empire, Corona’s Eagle Glen Golf Club offers a convenient escape for Southland golfers.

“You really do get away from it all,” said general manager Steve Jeffrey. “Each hole is its own little oasis.”

From the par-4 first, which drops from the tee and doglegs to the right, to the 18th, a par 5 with a lake guarding the tee shot and the approach, a round at Eagle Glen is a relaxing way to test your skills. Bunkers and ravines are ready to engulf errant shots throughout the Gary Roger Baird design, but each nine does offer a distinct change of pace.

“It’s true course management on the front nine,” Jeffrey said. “If you spray the ball you will struggle.

“The back is a little more forgiving. Six of the holes there are fairly flat, they’re just kind of long and winding.”

One of the most challenging tests heading into the picturesque clubhouse is the par-3 17th, which plays only 166 yards from the tips but demands precise club selection due to a substantial drop in elevation.

Eagle Glen also has some of the best amenities of any Southland facility. The carts are equipped with the latest software from ProLink GPS — not only can golfers get precise yardages, they can also track sports scores.

In addition to a fully stocked pro shop and full-service practice area, The Grille at Eagle Glen, has a diverse menu with tasty options.

Eagle Glen Golf Club is located west off the Cajalco Road exit on the 15 freeway. Green fees are $49 on weekdays and $69 on weekends and holidays.

Looks like a great place to play, look forward to playing it soon. Just wondering what your busy times/days might be, any ideas? Also wondering what kind of memberships you might, if any. Thanks. -Peter
