![]() Improve your putting, enjoy a fun activity and have a low-maintenance yard that looks great all year. With the many benefits of synthetic turf landscaping, it’s no wonder golfers are investing in artificial-grass putting greens. Chad Center, the owner and president of Center Stage Synthetic Turf, brings an intuitive touch and trained eyes to the challenges of designing and constructing the greens. “My background as a golf professional and my education through the PGA gives me more credibility than a lot of companies out there who are using hired help,” Center said. “I oversee a project myself from start to finish. I walk the job every day, making sure that the synthetic green and the design of the holes look and play as realistically as they can.” Center spent a decade as a PGA teaching professional, working at courses from Palm Springs to the Inland Empire. He started Center Stage Synthetic Turf about seven years ago after realizing his insight and knowledge gives him a competitive edge. The licensed contractor installs synthetic turf surfaces and landscapes in residential and business settings, as well as custom “golfscapes,” children’s playgrounds and sport fields. Center prefers using materials and brands that are free of rubber and nylon so his customers don’t worry about potential exposure to lead-based paints and fibers. “The turf we use is as close to a natural bent grass green as you’re going to find anywhere,” Center said. During the design and installation process, Center works closely with his clients, providing a complimentary in-home estimate and design consultation and review. Most of his yard putting greens can be installed in two to four days and customers can expect them to last 15 to 20 years, he said.
