As the largest cable provider in southern Orange County, Cox Communications is part of the daily life of thousands of local residents. But in March, it will once again lend a charitable hand to a part of the population in dire need of financial assistance: injured Marines. The fourth annual Cox Charity Golf Tournament takes place Monday, March 8 at Coto de Caza Golf & Racquet Club. Last year, the event raised more than $100,000 for the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund, which sponsors charitable events nationwide and offers critical assistance to men and women injured in the line of duty. The $300 entry fee includes a round of golf at one of Southern California’s most prestigious private clubs, along with lunch, gift packages, a Ketel One vodka martini bar and a cocktail and dinner party. Dinner-only tickets are $100. As part of the event, which is given a unique flair with the presence of enlisted marines and military vehicles from neighboring Camp Pendleton, the Cox Cares Helicopter Golf Ball Drop will offer participants a chance to win $2,000 by purchasing $10 golf balls that will be dropped from a helicopter over the course’s 18th hole. For tournament, sponsorship or dinner-only information, call (949) 546-3100 or visit cox-cares.org/golf. |
