Photos from the event Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio hosted the third annual Palm Springs Playboy Golf Scramble, held November 13-14. The scramble events kicked off several weeks prior to the celebrities and Playboy Playmates descending on Fantasy Springs. Two local television anchors, Gino Lamont of KMIR6-NBC and Scott Hennessee of KPSP2-CBS, competed for charity in a putting challenge. Hennessee came within six inches of the pin and won $1,000 for the Desert Cancer Foundation. The scramble-style tournament with 138 golfers got underway late Saturday morning. A popular spot was Eagle Falls' 18th hole, as six Playboy Playmates waited at the final green to take photos with each golf foursome as they finished. Following the golf, guests were treated to an awards banquet where the top three players won fabulous prizes and four Girls of Playboy Golf also were selected to go to the Playboy Golf Scramble Finals in Los Angeles and help the Playmates host two parties at the famous Playboy Mansion. Celebrities in attendance at the tournament and parties included actors Dennis Haysbert and Richard Karn, supermodel Beverly Johnson, and football star Fred “The Hammer” Williamson. Playboy Playmates on hand for the weekend tournament were Kelley Thompson, Miss November 2009; Kimberly Phillips, Miss September 2009; Tiffany Selby, Miss July 2007; Christine Smith, Miss December 2005; Marketa Janska, Miss July 2003; and Brooke Richards, Miss December 1999. “We look forward to many more successful Playboy Golf Scramble tournaments here at Fantasy Springs,” said General Manager, Paul Ryan. Next on the tournament agenda for Fantasy Springs and Eagle Falls Golf Course is the long-running Frank Sinatra Celebrity Invitational in February. Now in its 21st year, the event known as “Frank’s Little Party in the Desert” moves to the resort casino on the February 18-20 weekend.
