Victor Placeres is the new head professional at Coyote Hills Golf Club in Fullerton. The former assistant professional at the club has already established the Coyote Hills Golf Academy, which will offer group and individual lessons. Joining Placeres on the staff are assistant professionals Doug Mertz and Chris Hopkins. Three group lesson levels are planned. The first is geared toward beginning players and those who need a major tune-up. The second is designed for players trying to break 90. The third is for single-digit handicappers looking to fine-tune their game. There will be a maximum of eight students per instructor. The fee is $200 for four hour-long lessons, which includes a $50 range card. A junior golf program also is in the works. "It's all about promoting the game of golf and providing a service to our customers," Placeres said. "We're a full-service tournament, banquet and food and beverage operation, and it's important to be full-service in terms of the game as well." |
